Top 11 Best Acer Laptops to buy in 2021
11. Acer Flagship CB3-532
The 11th Best Acer Laptop on our list is Acer Flagship CB3-532. Technology continues to make astounding advances, but it shows our gadgets are becoming pricier and pricier.
This Chromebook is not expensive; it’s incredibly cheap. So we have blows our thought that you can get a laptop as good as the Acer Chromebook 15 for under $299.
Acer Flagship CB3-532 Chromebook also can run android apps from the Google play store like Instagram and even some 3D games like real racing.
The hinge on the display does not rotate the whole way back, so you will not be able to fold Acer Flagship CB3-532 Chromebook into tent mode, nor will you fold the display around and use it as a tablet mode. It is also not a touch screen which makes navigating some android games difficult.
The larger screen size on the screen book comes with a larger structure while not necessarily heavy. Acer Flagship CB3-532 is quite large and requires a good bit of room in your laptop bag.
While the design of Acer Flagship CB3-532 is nothing to write home about, the 15.6-inch LED-backlit screen feels roomy compared to other Chromebooks. Of course, that implies it’s not as portable as its 11-inch and 13-inch siblings, but it is still thin and lightweight enough to carry around.
The visuals were a bit jerky and choppy but still watchable. Unfortunately, the lack of a touch screen makes this particular game unplayable. Most Chromebooks come in the 11-inch or 13-inch variety; a larger display does not mean a larger resolution.
The resolution maxes out at 1536 x 864, meaning you get a bigger text on the screen instead of fitting more stuff on the screen. The screen colors are very dull, and the viewing angle is too narrow.
Acer Flagship CB3-532 has the Intel Celeron N33060, with 2 gigabytes of memory and 16 gigabytes of storage built into the device. You have an Intel HD graphics 400, not the best, but it’s what you’re getting at this lowest price.
This specification is more than adequate for your daily surfing and word processing.
It comes with a full-sized keyboard that does not feel cramped, although it lacks a numeric keypad. The keys are a little mushy and don’t entirely give that satisfying click like most laptops. It comes with a chiclet-style keyboard which looks pretty nice.
The key travels a little shallow, but they had excellent travel and didn’t wiggle. They don’t click hard, and so they’re pretty quiet, which is also pretty nice. The keys on this particular model are not backlit. You will also have a vast trackpad, and it is excellent, responsive, and smooth.
On the right side, you have an SD card slot, a USB 3.0 port, and a microphone Jack. On the left side, you have a charging port, an HDMI port, a USB 3.0 port and a headphone Jack. So this device does not have a lot of ports, but you have a lot of ports right there.
The battery life of Flagship CB3-532 is perfect and averages about 10 to 12 hours allowing you to get through a whole day without charging. However, the charger is proprietary, so you’ll need to remember to bring the charging brick along with you on your travels.
There are two speakers on either side of the keyboard that provides decent stereo sound quality, but the bass is nonexistent.
The performance of Acer Flagship CB3-532 can stutter even when loading just one ad-heavy website. However, if you tend to focus on one website at a time or only need to perform basic web browsing and social media tasks, you would be okay with Flagship CB3-532 Chromebook.

Speakers on Chromebook R11 are present on the bottom end. Unlike the other Acer Chromebook, they don’t sound all that great, but they do work in the sound differently depending on what mode you have it in. if it’s down the desk, they’ll feel bounce into the desk and sound different depending on the surface that they’re on.
But when it’s in the other mode, they’ll be slightly louder because the speakers will be facing upward.
There is a decent 720p webcam on the top of the display, nothing spectacular but good enough for doing Google Hangouts.
Acer Chromebook R11 is a very, very lovely laptop. The Chromebook is very useful if you’re just out and about or you want a straightforward thing to do some documents on. Overall, it’s pretty solid, thanks to the hinges located towards the far corners. As a 2-in-1 device, you can go from using it in laptop mode to tablet mode by flipping the screen fully back. When you do this, the touchpad and keyboard are disabled, so it doesn’t matter if you accidentally press anything while holding it.
The side bezels around the screen are thick enough that it was reasonably easy to carry, no accidental screen presses, and no matter how you held it.
There are two versions of Spin 5 available; there’s an i5 and an i7. Both versions of this laptop have a 13.5-inch 2256 x 1504 Widescreen IPS LED-backlit Touch display. The slim bezels are subtle, making the vibrant screen stand out even more.
It’s at a 3 x 2 aspect ratio, and this works out well for documents and other things because the screen isn’t as narrow here across, but if you’re watching media, you might see more letterboxing on screen. According to laptop mag’s review, the display is pretty bright and comes with about 425 nits. It also comes with a touch screen.
With a display ratio of 3:2, the Spin 5 touchscreen is very responsive, and it works well with a stylus for note-taking. Arguably, the laptop comes with one of the fastest styluses. Acer Spin 5 stylus features an ultra-fast charging system that fills the stylus 90 minutes of use in just 15 seconds.
Its HD display makes the Acer Spin 5 great for watching full-screen videos and taking notes. Above the displays, you got an HD camera capable of 720P video.
There’s an 8th generation Intel I5 8250U Quad-Core CPU, which runs at 1.6 gigahertz and can boost up to 3.4 gigahertz with a single Core. There are 8 gigabytes of DDR4 memory RAM at 2400 megahertz. There are 256 gigabytes of M.2 SSD for the storage, and there’s no discrete graphics present in this model.
So we’ve only got the integrated Intel UHD 620 graphics which powers the 13.3-inch IPS display. It does also appear to be available with Nvidia 1050 graphics, though. For the network connectivity, there’s 802.11 Ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth built-in.
Unfortunately, there is no ethernet connectivity unless you plug in a USB dongle.
Acer Spin 5 is a solid laptop that also has a decent, responsive keyboard and trackpad. It has a backlit keyboard, and keys are a little smaller than other laptops at around this price point. It takes a little bit of getting used to it once you start typing on it. You will get the large shift key on the right side of the keyboard.

Acer Spin 5 has a 56-watt hour battery. The battery life on this laptop, you about 8 to 9 hours, provided you keep the screen brightness down and stick to the basics like word processing, web browsing, etc. But if you start straining the computer more with a photo or video editing or games, that, of course, will eat into the battery life a little faster.
One of the downsides of having a laptop with a bright display is that when you’re using that display at its full brightness, the battery will drain faster, so it’s always a balancing act to get the most performance out of your machine. But it does charge pretty quickly with the thunderbolt ports or through its barrel connector.
If you’re doing a lot of document or photo editing or web browsing, even this square display is going to work better than the wider ones. But if you’re more into media consumption, then, of course, the wider display might be what you should be looking for.
Of course, there’s a lot of laptops with that option available for you. It’s the best yet; the Acer Spin 5 is surprisingly affordable if you’re on a student budget.
4. Acer Predator 17
The 4th Best Acer Laptop on our list is Acer Predator 17. The Predator 17 a high-end gaming notebook from Acer. They are usually bulkier, deliver more power, cost a pretty penny more, and measure 1.56 x 16.65 x 12.66-inches in height width depth.
It weighs approximately 10 pounds, so it’s not a lightweight laptop by any means. That’s not to say you can’t take it with you, but the question is do you want to because it’s a vast, bulky unit that is very heavy.
Looking at the design of Predator 17 reveals the classic Acer Predator look, which is quite aggressive. It’s a red and black design scheme with red accents making this laptop stand out. The Predator 17 is by no means a subtle gaming laptop, but for those who take gaming severely, it’s an excellent fit.
By pushing buttons five, you can activate Predator sense, a gaming control panel that allows you to customize traits such as macro programmable keys and backlit lighting controls. The laptop is VR-ready.
The Predator 17 offers a 17.3-inch IPS screen with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. It’s of the IPS variant, which means that it has better viewing angles and better color accuracy. The bezels themselves are relatively small, relatively well maintained, and they’re pretty good for gaming laptops. The display also emphasizes an in-plane switching panel for more extensive viewing angles.
The display highlights a 144-hertz refresh rate, 300 nits of brightness, and a 72 percent NTSC and 93 percent sRGB color range. Visuals are managed by a dedicated Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card with 6 gigabytes of GDDR5 video RAM.
If you’re up for some long gaming sessions, you’ll undoubtedly enjoy the cooler master fan module, which can be swapped out with the optical drive and limits the laptop from running too hot. Unfortunately, it’s not a laptop you’re going to do high professional photo editing with because it’s not a professional monitor.
Still, it works really for gaming and some video editing, depending on how picky you are about color accuracy and contrast.
Acer Predator 17 is powered by a 6th generation Intel Core i7 6700HQ 2.6 gigahertz processor, and it does have a turbo boost so that you will see over three gigahertz spikes on it as well. It comes with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 with 6 gigabytes of GDDR5.
It comes with 16 gigabytes of DDR4 RAM, and it supports up to 64 gigabytes of RAM. It’s got 256 gigabytes of M2 SSD, and it does come with a one terabyte hard drive.
The keyboard quality of Predator 17 itself is pretty good, and it’s very easy to type on. It has a good amount of travel, so they do feel more like a desktop keyboard. They feel perfect for typing as well as gaming. The keys are backlit in a two-tone design, so you’ve got blue keys on the right and red on the left.
The gaming keycaps have been given a more gaming-rich design because they are red and black rather than black and white. It does fingerprint very quickly, and it just doesn’t feel the most premium thing out there. The touchpad does also works well.
You’ve got the Predator buttons on the left-hand side, and then you’ve got a trackpad to disable the button, which is very easy to hit. So, if you are playing a game and you want to disable the trackpad, you can do it very quickly. When you open up the laptop, if you look on the left side, the first keys you’re going to see on the left will be programmable macro keys are 5 of them.
You can set 3 different presets, which will give you a total of 15 different keys. So, this will be an RGB backlit keyboard, and it has four zones that can be programmed to different colors if you want, so that’s pretty cool.
As for the ports, on the right-hand side of Predator 17, you’ll find a thunderbolt Jack which is fantastic to see, 2 USB 3.0 with a quick charger, HDMI DisplayPort, Ethernet, and a Kensington lock.
In addition, you’ll find a Blu-ray drive, headphones and microphone, another 2 USB 3.0, and the power jack on the left side. In the box, you’ll also find an additional laptop cooler.
As far as battery life goes, Predator 17 was just okay. As far as doing some light work and doing some web browsing, you will get around 3 hours out of it, but you can expect about an hour and a half, maybe a little less, when doing heavy gaming.
This is partly due to the size of the screen, the graphics card, and the fact that it supports G-sync. Also, the cooling system works pretty well on this laptop.
So overall, we think Acer Predator 17 a great gaming laptop. The only place we feel like it falls short is that it’s a little bit bigger and heavier than some of the competition, and the battery life could be a lot better as well.

The black deck of Aspire E15 is made of chunky plastic, but a brushed metal texture gives it a seemingly premium appearance. However, when we touch it, we can feel the plastic of the shell, so there’s no hiding the fact that it is a budget laptop.
It is more significant than comparatively priced models such as the Acer Spin 3 and the Asus Vivobook flip 14. Due to its larger physical size, the Aspire E15 is also heavier and weighs 5 pounds.
Some of you don’t want a second look, but if you’re on a budget, you really should consider overlooking its weight for the price, unlike the other 2-in-1 laptop. But overall, the laptop as a whole still feels sturdy enough.
The Aspire E15 comes with a 15.6-inch full HD display that stars a 1920 x 1080P resolution for crisp and sharp content reproduction. The display is not flimsy, stiff enough not to move even while typing at 15 x 10.2 x 1.2-inches thick. The Aspire E15 has a standard clamshell design with a non-touchscreen display.
The 15-inch display is sharp but not very colorful. It is perfectly adequate for browsing the web, editing Word documents, or working with pivot tables. However, if you move your head from side to side or tilt the screen up and down, you will have some problems with the image quality. The brightness and contrast widely depending on the viewing angle, and the display blows out and goes inverse as you tilt the lid down.
You will have no trouble viewing the Aspire E15’s display while indoors, but you can expect to squint if you’re using a laptop near a bright window or outdoors, which is still on par for a budget laptop.
Aspire E15 is sporting an 8th generation Intel Core i5 8250U, 8 gigabytes of DDR4 memory, a dedicated Nvidia GeForce MX150 GPU, and a 256 gigabyte SSD, all of which are still very much usable even in 2021. The CPU still has no problem while working in Premiere, After Effects, or Photoshop.
The dedicated GPU also helps take a load off the processor, which speeds things up. In addition, you can take advantage of the additional RAM slot and expanded it up to 16 gigs. Overall, we feel like the performance from the Acer still holds up very well; heavier tasks like video editing are handle just fine.
It isn’t a gaming laptop, but this laptop can still run many games. It could be a great option if you’re looking for a cheap laptop to play some games on, as long as you keep your expectations in check.
The games like Minecraft, of course, run fine, but more intense games like Fortnite or battlefront or pretty much any triple-A games will require a little bit of graphical tweaking to get running smoothly.
The quality keyboard is good. But the quality of the trackpad is not that good. The trackpad is not smooth, and you can feel the friction. On the other hand, the touchpad on the Aspire E15 is responsive and emphasizes palm rejection technology that neglects unintended motions.
Acer Aspire E15 packs in plenty of connectivity; you get a USB C 3.1 Gen1 port, no thunderbolt three support, 2 USB A 3.0 ports and USB A 2.0 port, a full-size HDMI port, a VGA port, an Ethernet connection, and a 3.5-millimetre combo audio Jack.
Aspire E15 battery life is vital for a budget laptop. It’ll last almost up to 9 hours of continuous web surfing over Wi-Fi. Admittedly, it’s nearly 3 hours longer than the Acer Spin 3, and the budget laptop categories average 7 hours and 20 minutes. However, we feel the battery life gained here outweighs the extra weight of the laptop.
It come with powerful performance, good battery life, and plenty of ports; we feel the Acer Aspire E15 is one of the best values on the market. Despite a few notable shortcomings like a poor webcam, bulky design, and a light display but these don’t detract too much from the overall package.
The Aspire E15 offers excellent bang for your Buck, and we highly recommend it as one of the best budget laptops for college students or anyone else shopping for an all-rounder laptop that won’t break the bank.

The keypress is excellent as well. It is slightly longer than your average thin and light laptop but not as far as, say, a mechanical keyboard. It is a responsive and quiet keyboard. The trackpad is secure and peaceful. It has excellent touch gestures and clicks sensitivity. It is one of the best gaming laptop trackpads.
You will also notice that the 2020 model has a see-through keycap with 4 zone RGB lighting. The keycaps are highlighted and controlled from Acer’s Predator Sense, which contains lighting, fan, and overclocking.
This Windows 10 compatible laptop has a headphone jack, HDMI 2.0 port, ethernet, Type C USB, mini DP, and three 3.0 USBs when it comes to connectivity. It weighs around 5.51 pounds with a 13 x 10 x 0.9-inch dimension; this laptop isn’t that big or heavy for a gaming laptop.
